Bullet points on the Washington DC mass shooting, which occured Sunday August 9:

*At least 4 shooters fired over 100 rounds into a crowd of at least 100 people

*22 people were shot, including 12 women; 1 died

Yet incredibly (or not) the largest mass shooting of 2020 has been almost totally ignored by the MSM. No marches calling for an end to gun violence. No speeches by Al Sharpton. No BLM protests. Why do you suppose that is?

quote:

The D.C. mayor and chief of police said they are looking to hold the people responsible who opened fire into a crowd of hundreds of people Sunday killing one and injuring 21 others.

D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham said in a press conference Monday it was "absolutely ridiculous" and "unacceptable" that individuals thought it was OK to exchange gunfire in a large gathering of people.

Bowser said she is working with community members and her colleagues on the city council to combat issues of gun violence in the city. So far, 570 people have been non-fatally shot in the city this year, she said.

I bet all of the firearms used in the shootout were registered with MPD

Why? I blame Congress! They have absolute authority over DC and have chosen to do nothing about their absurd gun laws.

Exactly. I didn't hear about it until days after the fact.

Now the big question: Why is the MSM ignoring this story? It has every potential angle they like: Gun control, violence, black victims. Yet they ignored the story

Simple answer - Shooters were black.

Same reason the press likely doesn’t give a shite about the mass shooting at the wake in Bogalusa nor the drive by outside a wake in New Orleans that killed a black “Indian Queen.”

Is this actually true? The way I've come to understand it is that the authority in DC actually lies with POTUS.

Years back, or so I've heard, POTUS delegated that responsibility to Congress who then, in turn, decided to appoint a mayor over DC. Congress could assume control I suppose, but POTUS could assume control even over Congress.

No, Congress is the legislating authority. They have over the years given more and more authority to DC municipal gov.

Here is the wiki article on Home Rule LINK

DC has shown time and time again it does not respect the 2nd amendment. They should have never been allowed to “regulate“ it in the first place.

Topical libtard politician.

She wants to get the guns off the streets.

If she gets the guns off the streets, the felonious morons will still moron. But if she gets the felonious morons off the streets, the guns just sit there.

Get the bad guys behind bars and the guns are not a problem!

4 people shooting 100+ rounds into a crowd and only killed 1. Are they using pellet guns?

Yeah, a month or two back there were something like 20 people shot at a wake in Bogalusa with a few dead.

Local rumor mill said it was a rap feud between several groups including supporters of BR area rapper NBA Youngboy.

My mistake, 13 wounded no dead.

And it did get scant ABC coverage at the least.

If there was a thread that deserved Breaking: on it, it’s this one. First time I even read or heard about this.

Hmmm, 100 shots fired. One dead. Yep, sounds like people holding the pistol sideways.
