UAB homecoming uniforms to use children patients names
For those of you not familiar with the UAB campus, it sits in and around a medical complex that includes a children's hospital.

The UAB players will wear special uniforms with names of past and present children served by Children’s Harbor and Children’s Hospital serving as the nameplates on the jerseys. Clark wouldn’t reveal what the uniforms will look like but did say “it’s a different look than what we’ve ever worn before.” Clark added that the plan is that coaches and staff members will also honor the children in some ways, perhaps with a patch. “I don’t want it to be about us, I want it to be about them,” Clark said. “It’s so much bigger than us. It’s a way to use our platform, which is what I think we’re called to do. We get to recognize these kids and also shine a light on Children’s Harbor, the work they’re doing, which is selfless. It’s a special thing.”

Clark said approximately100 players will dress out for the game. Each of the jerseys will be given to the children and their families following the game.

According to a university release, Children's Harbor serves seriously ill children and their families through unique, no-cost services at the Family Center inside the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, and at the camp facility at Lake Martin in Alexander City. As part of its community service outreach, the UAB football team adopted Children's Harbor as one of their community charities in 2016 and the Blazers make regularly scheduled trips to the hospital to build relations and encourage patients.
