Help me understand the foreign aid and problems at home dichotomy

I know I can’t fight city hall, but I’m just wondering how in the world our government would send billions of dollars in aid to Israel while our teachers and schools are being fired and closed?
I get that budgets determine ans all that… but how the frick does someone agree to send BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to allies (or shite, anyone for that matter) while there are so many vital issues that need attention at home?
I know I’m overly simplifying my disgust, so I’m want to understand how it happens on the regular?
I mean shite! Our own fricking country shuts down every 10 years or so… I wonder if that $90+ aid package money could have been used more responsibly within our borders?
Hmmm.
Not trolling.. but people make that argument all the time “Why are we sending money blah blah blah” and I for the life of me can’t think of a single, logical, and reasonable reason to do so… and I’m normally the “devils advocate” guy explaining why shite sucks because of the government…
But in this, I’m fricking lost.

What are you talking about? My school district got a few hundred thousand dollar scoreboard and a brand new high school thanks to covid money. They are doing just fine.

The really "smart" posters will show up soon to tell you all about Middle East power vacuums and catastrophic world collapse and other shite that makes their pussies hurt.

Because 60B is nothing when you’re 35T in debt.
Even if we could balance a budget off 4.4T, 60B is nothing.
I agree with you though. 60B should be used for tax payers.

But why isn’t it? I mean… how could that argument win and keep winning?

America is in greater danger than Ukraine.
Partly because of the people in Washington DC.
