Problem is places dont get explored without people like Columbus.
Takes a hard SOB to take off in small wooden ships across an ocean to who knows where facing who know what with no backup anywhere to be seen.
Not only the natives kill ya but your own crew of hard SOBs could toss your arse overboard at will.

Columbus really was a POS though
So was MLK, and he was supposed to be a "man of God".

He was NOT Italian, at least not from a country known as Italy. He was from Genoa which was a City-state then, its own nation.
Italy was not a nation known as Italy until 1888.

Liberals should love Columbus. He had the ultimate green ships. Wind powered, he only used three galleons to cross an ocean.
Compare that to Al Gore’s jets.

Muslims were the reason for Columbus voyage....indirectly...
Especially after all the turmoil in 1453 in Constantinople.

Columbus gets all the love but America was named after Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian explorer and navigator.
