He is, and it goes beyond debating Jones. He won't even answer questions the media has repeatedly sent him. He hasn't been present at the last few press conferences his campaign has called. And the last one he did attend, he sent his sycophants up there to do all the talking.

Its been pretty sad but not even surprising considering Moore has always been a charlatan. If he isn't allowed to preach from the pulpit, he retreats to a safe space. Strange wasn't exactly Abraham Lincoln in the debate he had with Moore, but at least he tried to speak to topics that people here claim they want to discuss...in between saying "Trump" 1000 times. Moore was fumbling through his piles of notes trying to find the stock talking point answer about morals & God.

Its sad and we should be demanding more from someone who wants to represent us. This board rightfully gave Hillary hell for being a sheltered candidate. They should be doing the same for Moore.

your statement implies a distinction

as if there is a complete stranger you'd leave your kids with...or do you think that because you've seen someone on tv they're not a stranger?

I can honestly say I never once voted for him. I will also be able to say the same about Rapin' Roy

Of course, I will be able to go to my grave saying the same about both.

I'm waiting to see if Moore gets soon lauded by the media as the new "Lion of the Senate", though.

I think the board would have a similar outlook on moore if he were the beneficiary of such one sided coverage.

I can't think of any party nominee for senate who has received the attention that has been given to moore...then add to that, it's all scathing.

I'm not going to defend the media, but outside of the R next to his name, he doesn't have many redeemable qualities. He's been a lightening rod for 25 years because of his own actions, not because of the media.

But Moore can quit letting the media define him by getting out in the public. He does very little campaigning beyond protected settings and he lets his nutjob surrogates do his talking for him.

that's called hitting the campaign trail...has he not done that?

this is probably my favorite developing situation in American politics...republicans are winning elections while telling the media to go frick themselves. it just speaks to how one sided, over the top and dishonest they are...and they're rightfully freaking the frick out about it. don't hate the player, hate the game.

voters don't take the media seriously and view everything from them with greater skepticism than a guy who looks and sounds like roy moore. in fact, no one has done more to get roy elected than the national media.

then just lay it out. if it's so laughable, sounds like an easy question you've refused to answer 5 times. also, this derisive and adversarial tone is one of the biggest contributing factors to moore winning and your melting.

Stop it with the sanctimonious bull crap. I’m not going to list all of the things that Alabama voters don’t know about the two candidates. That’s ridiculous. Each person’s level of knowledge is different. Some likely don’t even know there is an election tomorrow. A debate helps people understand differences that people who didn’t understand before come to understand after. I haven’t answered your question because there is no answer to it. It is invalid.

Asking for ONE

So tell me one of those differences they don’t understand

It’s like you know answering the question will make you look stupid

You can only demagogue for so long before it loses its efficacy. When you draw equivalencies with Hitler with every major Republican candidate, the electorate can't tell when you are trying to be sincere. Liberals' need to save Obama by casting Mitt Romney as the emperor from star wars, I believe, was the straw that broke the attack's back.

Yes, all the time

When there's no chance you will lose, why give the other guy the opportunity for a gotcha?

Yes.

It happens fairly often. Usually with an incumbent.

How so?? Are you claiming that people should not vote for a representative that will vote along with their beliefs? What is your motivation in selecting a candidate to vote for?

Would you vote for Bill Cosby if he voted for all of your personal beliefs?
