Harris says Mexico, US can work together to improve quality of life in Northern Triangle

Vice President Harris voiced optimism on Friday that the Biden administration can work with the Mexican government to stem the flow of migration by improving the quality of life for citizens of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
During a virtual bilateral meeting with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Harris said, “It is in our countries’ mutual interest to provide immediate relief to the Northern Triangle, and to address the root causes of migration.”
Harris argued that residents of the Central American countries “don’t want to leave home,” but do so “because they are fleeing some harm, or they are forced to leave because there’s no opportunity in their home.” LINK
Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador lambasted the Biden administration for U.S. financing of an anti-corruption group in the country ahead of a bilateral meeting with Vice President Harris on Friday.
"A foreign government cannot give money to political groups in another country. Our constitution forbids it," said López Obrador.
"It's treason," he then added. "It's meddling, it's interventionism and it's promoting coup-plotting."

At his daily press conference Friday, López Obrador said the country's Foreign Affairs Secretariat presented an official diplomatic complaint to the United States a day earlier over the financing. LINK

I visit a small town on the beach in Mexico very often. Other than the tourist spots it is disgusting and dirty like every other town in Mexico. We are starting to look the same with our homeless encampments, and it will only get worse.

Definitely not treason, unless he’s referring to the Mexican nationals who accept the money. Foreigners and foreign governments cannot commit treason by definition.
