Harmeet Dhillon is on the case. The DOJ is going to enforce SCOTUS redistrict ruling.

to act on the Supreme Court’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais.
DOJ has the power to enforce this decision nationwide and must use it to end illegal racially-gerrymandered districts.

I just do not understand why districts are not simply drawn with the most straight borders as possible to simply end confusion and let the rep numbers fall where they may.
The above illustrations you provided are certainly reprehensible and indicative of failed liberal policies forcing such.
Which is why I asked earlier that if someone is elected from an unconstitutional district, how can that someone serve in a constitutional body as a representative?

Agreed.
They can't be just square blocks, because the populations have to be equal. But they should follow county/parish lines where at all possible.

The seats are apportioned based on an approximate equal number of residents per district (not necessarily citizens, as non-citizens are counted in the census for apportionment, but shouldn't). So, it is difficult to do just that, as you described, but in general, yes, you want the people within a specific district to feel like they belong in the group, not in some small carve-out to meet a racial quota. So hopefully, that's what occurs.
