I've heard similar points made. One was that was exactly what the bad actors were looking for...a chance for one of their lawyers to really get a look at what they had on them.

I think the strategy all along from the Obama camp is to keep Flynn’s mouth shut. He really can incriminate himself by exercising his first amendment rights by talking to the media so his legal counsel instructs him to be quiet until the case is on going. Judge Sullivan is in the Obama camp and he knows this. Extend the case out as long as possible to keep Flynn quiet. That is the strategy. Remember Flynn said about 3 years ago, “I have a story to tell”. Obama does not want that story told.
