Pretty interesting. Civil War/Reconstruction buffs might find this interesting.

frick that.

I cannot believe this has been allowed.

His siege of Vicksburg alone makes this an outrage.

Agreed. Its big for MSU to have the Presidential Library, but did it have to be Grant?

Hard to cover up all that nepotism! Guess he was a decent leader, though, or at least better than his predecessor.. Being a general and all..

Sounds like they should have put that in Oxford and go ahead and move Clinton's library to Oxford as well where we can show corruption and hooker history
Hugh Freeze would make a great Head librarian

Should have fought harder - I don't know what else to tell you.

July 1863 for the South was like 1/9/2012 was for LSU football.

The Grant Presidential Library has actually been there officially since 2012. I believe that this is the opening of a new facility for it. The Grant Collection of papers was actually transferred to Mississippi State in 2008.

Wow. As an alumni of Mississippi State I’m surprised this happened.

The first president of the university was a Civil War Confederate General, Stephen Dill Lee. Why not name it after him, at least?

ETA: Just read the article. Makes sense they named it after Grant and all, but still.

White folk still mad that Grant whipped Vicksburg in the war, but they can’t understand why black folk are still salty about their great grandpappy being whipped as a slave on a Mississippi plantation.

Well you know what they say. If you don't like the other team rubbing it in, you can always stop them.

The south lost the war. It is what it is.
