Maybe you're right.
But the Ivy League presidents testifying before Congress...especially Elise Stefanik's interrogation...and the subsequent testimony by the bimbo from Columbia has led to historic and massive changes. Never did I dream that Harvard would be thrown off the government tit, and that Columbia would have massive layoffs because of the loss of federal funding. That all started with Stefanik's moment in the spotlight, with assists by a few others on that committee.
It all started with Elise Stefanik's interrogation. What did she actually "do" in the context of your definition of the word? Probably nothing. There was no executive action she could take.
But she sure did a helluva lot.
