What the should have was broke it up into days. First day go into complete attack mode. Attack her in the exact same ways the democrats did to Barrett and Brett K. No hold barred. Then the second day have a opening statement explaining what they did the previous day and why. Explain it was to prove a point, then after that ask the real questions and don't settle for anything but real answers. Do not allow double talk and half answers.

The media saying it is meaningless these days. No one is being racist toward her.

If you are saying “We can’t compete with an enemy controlled media”, then the war is already lost completely.

You can if you do it intelligently.

Those who are dangling the strings on popular political thought on the right just promote emotional-irrational responses to it, which often are not intelligent and play into the narrative of the left-media. This whole" JUST FIGHT" shite you see repeated in this thread is a perfect example of that.

The coordinated media can, and has been, exposed. The best recent example was all the egg following the fake Russia Collusion hoax. THAT is an opening to attack and fight. The war isn't lost, but if people on the right keep blindly promoting emotional-irrational ideas proliferated by their betters, they will lose because they're playing into that media monolith's hands.

Why give the enemy exactly what they want when it costs you a lot and winning or losing has no net effect?

Pragmatism is a function of moderates in politics.

You just had a tomato/tomato argument.

Pretending there are moderates is how this happened

Lunacy.

Libertarianism isn't supported on this board.

This is the lie those pulling the strings want you to believe. They have seized on the echo chambers of modern living (primarily through social media AI) to create groupthink on the poles.

Not to people in that bubble/echo chamber.

Irrelevant. If you play into their narratives, you give your opposition the opening to create the meme.

Exactly why this "fight" was stupid.

The enemy is getting what they want either way.

They either get the shittiest SCOTUS nominee since Abe Fortas pushed through and use them as a cudgel for future shitty picks or they throw the race card over an incredibly shitty pick.

And frankly the race card is swiped out at this point.

Republicans have no spine to stand up to anything the Democrats and media do. It's pretty damn sad, tbh.

Lindsey did at times. Asking her religion and questions regarding that had zero bearing on her qualifications.

The better strategy here would be to point out the absurdity of this nomination, by agreeing with it. Instead of questions, simply convey congratulations to her on being a black woman. Because being a black woman is such huge accomplishment. Agree that that is the only thing that makes her deserving of the position.

nah

The right approach is to suggest that a nomination based on race is wrong. Eliminating black men, Hispanic men and women, Asian men and women, and even white folk is wrong.

You hammer the administration for doing this.

Then you hammer her for her pro-pedophile position. You ask her where that comes from.

Then you state that you cannot support her. But, you remind democrats every time they play the race card that there are many black women who can replace her and make them defend why they only think there is one qualified black candidate.

Yeah, he just did that on his own. There was no point to that line of questioning.

Of course it is. The current Libertarian Party isn't.

I mean...people made a huge deal out of ACB not being a Catholic or a Jew. Seems like it was a pretty big deal.

Yep. They're not libertarian at all. It's basically the party of the pothead kids in high school who tried too hard to be different.

This is what happens when you nominate a loser like Trump
You deal with the consequences. Trump lost to Hilary by 3m and Sleepy by 8m but this board wants him again??
Sigh...loser mentality

Wrong. This "fight" is exactly what they want and they had the stories pre-written.

If the GOP was respectful and not just promoting this inane polarity that both sides are pushing, the media would have less ammo.

quote:
You have to fight.

Fight when you can win and it's not a total loss.

Otherwise you look wrong AND stupid.

You are making the false assumption that the media would not have been hard on the GOP regardless. They have kept the attacks based on her record as a judge with a few sprinkled in reminders of how Dems have handled nominations (Lindsay asking about religion).

There are absolutely conservatives that want to see a spine from the GOP and showing they won't just surrender and that is exactly what you want them to do. Democrats and the Media will hate the GOP and blame them no matter what.

Why? Its a 50-50 senate. As long as you keep the RINO’s in line, persuading Manchin or Sinema that she’s a bad choice is enough to sink the nomination

You folks clinging to this hope are about to be really pissed off. There will be maybe, MAYBE, 20 no votes total.

Remember how dog and pony show the GOPe has been the past years.
