Communism is not a form of facism. It's a form of socialism. Facism has a strict class structure whereas communism has no class structure. True communism has never been practiced by anyone ever. True communism is where the citizens govern themselves and own the means of production. The Soviet Union was socialist and never reached true communism.
Also, facism IS extreme right wing. Just like socialism and communism is extreme left wing.

This is the case of them literally thinking that they need to defend an extremist ideology because they have idolized the idea of being conservative so much.

fascism is merely law and order authoritarianism and it can be attached to 'leftism' or 'rightism'

No it's not, because one of the single most important parts of communism, no such thing as private property, is not part of fascism.
