GM’s problem is too many vehicle offerings.

Cut that shite down to reasonable levels and profit...them maybe pay back the bailout money.

They can blame it on tariffs all they want, which is bullshite… They make a shitty product and took chances on some even shittier product lines...

No one is driving sedans any more. Why still make them.

They aren't closing any plants that make SUV's are they?

Nope, but they had to get rid of one of their more popular SUV's because of the fuel portfolios but I guess it is muh tariffs...

well, if gm can't compete they need to close shop. those workers will find jobs elsewhere.

Sedans are dying. Ford already announced that they are killing all but 2 cars.

SUVs and trucks are what buyers want. Good thing Trump is rolling back CAFE regulations or they wouldn't be able to sell much at all.

GM got caught flat-footed and is blaming Trump for it's lack of foresight in it's business forecasting model.

This has nothing to do with tariffs.

It has to do with the same reason Ford just stopped production of most commuter passenger cars in favor of suv’s And electric cars.

Stop going all in with the insane expensive truck competition and maybe build cars that are reasonably priced that families would actually drive.

GM got all into the little pecker big toy arms race...

That's why the Japanese kick our asses, they make reasonble cars that reasonable people drive for a specific purpose to get you from point A to B.

Toyota Camry #1 selling car in America.
Honda Civic #2
Toyota Corolla #3
Honda Accord #4
Nissan Sentra #5

Not an American car in the Top 5. Closest is Ford Focus.

If GM stopped focusing on luxury toys for little boys and started focusing on family cars that were reliable and cost-effective and affordable...maybe they wouldn't be in the trouble that they are in.

GM has been too cumbersome for many years.. mostly due to some poor quality products and an aggressive union....That union directly resulted in a closure of a local plant in North Alabama that lost the area 5000 jobs about 15 years ago. GM would have filed bankruptcy in 2008 were it not for the infusion of 14 billion dollars from the federal government.

I know numerous GM employees that retired drawing $3,000 a month with Healthcare at 48 years old, all of them are now working at other plants... that business model is not sustainable
