I have no idea why someone would see Trump systematically destroy every single Republican opponent and destroy their future Presidential ambitions in the 2016 primary and think going up against him is good for your political future. Rubio, Kasich, Cruz, Jeb!, etc are never going to be President.
It makes sense when you realize the seething never Trump idiots from 2016 are the ones whispering in DeSantis’ ear trying to convince him to run. They don’t care about DeSantis’ future. They just see him as their one shot.

We would have had President Jeb! Bush, President Scott Walker, President George P. Bush by now. They despise Trump and stomp and hate his guts beyond words. So Jebra! bought DeSantis boxes of MAGA red caps, a red cape, & white boots, to trick us.
Remember that last mighty mouse with a painted red cape, that was said to have the same fiscal skills as Eddie Munster Paul Ryan?
