Good I hope they start with the one behind the mall of Louisiana. Prices in there are too high.

I’ve never gone further than 30 feet into one of their stores. I was in Metry one day several years back and decided to stop there to see if they had any .303 ammo. I’ve never been to one of their stores before. I walk in and the greeter guy says hello and I ask him where their ammunition was. He looked at me like I suddenly grew a horn on my head and said “We don’t sell that here!” So I was like peace out and made a 180 out of there.

I don't buy from Amazon. I shop local unless I can't find it locally. In which case I go straight to a vendor and save them 15%.

I almost popped into a Dick’s the other day because it was literally right next to the store I had to go to already.

I ended up deciding to inconvenience myself and vote with my pocketbook because of their shite. I drove to the Academy 15 minutes away.

Dick’s won’t get my money.

so hilarious.

Yes liberals own a monopoly on certain things of great importance. Wow you really got us this time Big Scrub.

So conservatives will not buy items of convenience from liberals when other options are available.....but when monopolies exist and there are no options we do.

How exactly is this a victory for you again? Your side is fricking sad. Truly pathetic.

Hey look! There is a dictionary online so you can avoid humiliating yourself!

pos·si·ble
/'päs?b(?)l/
adjective
1.
able to be done; within the power or capacity of someone or something.

Do I need to look up "eat shite" for you or can you figure that one out yourself?

This is what happens when you hire marketing ideologues rather than people with common fricking sense.

A sporting good store can survive without a hunting and shooting section. But this is a company which was opening a set of Field And Stream stores especially to cater to this group.

It’s like they went skeet shooting and kept shooting themselves in the foot with a shotgun.

I've sounded off on DSG for a long time, was a Dept Manager for 6 years.

Every misfortune that befalls that company and the family that runs it couldn't be more deserved.

Never forget that this company stopped taking up donations for St Jude's Children's Hospital because it didn't have a "financial incentive" and instead formed their own fake charity that funnels money into their bottom line.

He said “when possible.” Tell us about the alternatives that can compete with the product quality of IPhone or Android.

Dicks has plenty of competitors who sell the same products and STILL sells firearms. Cabelas, Bass Pro, Academy.

But you knew this and still made your dumb arse comparison.

I will never buy anything from Dick’s

I have a Dick's scorecard and used to be a regular customer and haven't bought a thing from them since their stupidity. I'm not a person who demands a boycott. I don't run around telling other people not to buy from a company just because I'm not going to. But it's not that hard to avoid shopping at Dick's because there's plenty of options.

That's the part I don't understand about these folks. Unless you're selling a product that has very little replaceability doing this kind of shite is just idiotic.

and one other thing these companies need to realize is that the people that support them end up serving to be counter advertisers also. Never in the history of marketing has it been an effective tool to ridicule customers who are wavering about using your business

these companies need to recognize that not only do they make a decision that alienates part of their customer base but then the rest of the people who like their decision proceed to magnify the problem. Unfortunately those same extra people aren't enough to overcome the problem in terms of sales.

This is a perfectly good point and goes to what I said in my prior post. But those particular things you mentioned are far less replaceable with other similar products. I'm not saying they can't me I'm just saying that's not as easy. Also it's probably fair to say they aren't attacking the very specific issue that animates people.

but regardless the difference between them and a store like dicks is that there's nothing particularly special about Dick's products. the Nike running shoes they sell are the same as the Nike running shoes you can buy anywhere else. This applies to pretty much everything in their store.

you can't piss on a subset of your normal market in that kind of environment

Exactly. I don’t really inconvenience my life and keep some long running list of “protest” or “boycott” companies.

But in the case of Dicks and Nike, it’s so easily mentally to just remember not to shop there or buy their products because there is easily accessible replacements.
