ABC canceled the show because Fox owned it and ABC couldn’t make the revenue they wanted for what it would have cost to make the show.

Having a hit show in your line up helps the other shows on the same night achieve higher rating and thus higher revenues for the network. Your argument sounds contrived and void of logic.

Meanwhile ABC kept similarly performing shows like Shark Tank and Fresh Off The Boat and kept lesser-performing shows like Once Upon A Time (in the article Last Man was replaced in its time slow with Once Upon). I'm sure ownership had something to do with it, but to say politics played no part is a hard pill to swallow when looked at objectively.

Fox also owned it for all the years it played on ABC and ABC was thrilled with the profits. Thrilled until Tim announced his conservatism. Then, POOF, gone like a fart in a hurricane.
The profits it made were good enough until then.
