It's actually more about China TBH. China buys oil from Iran and China is gearing up to take over Taiwan. By neutralizing Iran, we put a dent in China's oil supplies thus making it harder for them to take over Taiwan.

Easy answer is Because Iran didn’t terminate the agreement allowing inspections until Nov 2025.
Better answer is that he didn’t want to telegraph to China how we would cripple them.

That would require a ground invasion. Trump would be impeached and removed long before that gets close to happening.

The total destruction of their military and their stuff unless they surrender before that happens. After that monitor them with their new leader and dare them to make the same mistake. If they put in a more Western non Islamic zealot then that's icing on the cake.
