Or how about the facts as observed by those of us who've majored in Engineering. The observation that 9/10 women at the start of freshman engineering classes no longer show up by the end of the sophomore year. Thermodynamics is a hell of a filter.

That's exactly what the other posters were saying. Engineering attracts and requires the most intelligent people, a group largely populated by white and asian males.
