The Fed doesn't have any way to truly stop the eventual collapse of the USD due to the cataclysmic $39 trillion debt spiral. The Fed may be easing rates to lessen the debt service (currently $1.3 trillion annually) on the $39 trillion debt?
The only hope, and it's a scant hope, is the US Congress passing a balanced budget amendment and a reworking of the Fed's monetary policy/mission.
I honestly think a panel of competent economists and banking gurus could formulate a sensible and fair interest rate policy that would establish key interest rates for commercial and personal loans. Once the interest rate uncertainty is gone, then anyone who is wanting a loan knows exactly what the cost of borrowing money is going to be
