Setting aside the patent stupidity of the boldface language, we are discussing vigilantism. The vigilante is question was a US citizen
but the illegals aren't. my word. so your response was stupid. illegals are not protected by nm/us law. but you knew that already right?

And you were wrong

I cite you to a 2013 statute, and your response is to cite a NEWSPAPER article from 2011, saying that there was no such statue in 2011 ... two years before the statute was amended.

OK.

Your NEWSPAPER article says that New Mexico (back in 2011) had “continued to recognize the Common Law concept” of citizen’s arrest. That SAME article explains that, under the Common Law, a “citizen’s arrest” was limited (in relevant part) to FELONIES. This is consistent with the above-cited statutory law, which is basically a codification of this Common Law concept.

AGAIN, “unlawful entry” is NOT a felony.

Yet another swing and miss for STD.

A JD with honors from a top-10 law school and 30 years in practice, as compared to your apparent GED.

Not remotely what I said. The law varies greatly from state to state.

I am quite aware that you did not provide a link to the article. That failure does not change the fact that it was a direct quote from a 2011 article in the Albuquerque Journal, written by Alan Malott.

This link does not include any of the language that you quoted earlier, all of which appears in the ABQ Journal article. Your link DOES, however, contain a link to the NM statute that I cited above.

I have endured my daily quota of your stupidity.

This is pretty simple.

There is no way the govt is going to allow organized armed groups, not affiliated with some level of govt to act unmolested. No govt does.

The guy is a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Anyone past grade school knows you get arrested for that. Wrapping yourself in the flag and pointing out someone else breaking the law doesn’t get you off the hook.
