quote:but the illegals aren't. my word. so your response was stupid. illegals are not protected by nm/us law. but you knew that already right?
Setting aside the patent stupidity of the boldface language, we are discussing vigilantism. The vigilante is question was a US citizen
quote:and i have explained how your response did not show i was wrong.
And you were wrong

Your understanding of basic legal principles is approximately equal to a schnauzer’s understanding of calculus
quote:so a us citizen is allowed to protect their property from intruders. that's all you had to say
In varying degrees in different situations in MOST states, the answer is “yes” by statute
quote:if they are on their property, they are according to you
But they are NOT allowed to go out and search
quote:they are allowed to detain on their own property, according to you
take a purported thief into custody

All you do is lie Hero Hank
OK.

near-consensus of hate for the FBI and love for vigilantism?
Mobs illegally crossing an international border en masse is vigilantism, how rich
You mean the FBI that’s under criminal investigation for fomenting a coup? Illegally spying on an opposition campaign and treason? That effbeeeye?

quote:Your NEWSPAPER article says that New Mexico (back in 2011) had “continued to recognize the Common Law concept” of citizen’s arrest. That SAME article explains that, under the Common Law, a “citizen’s arrest” was limited (in relevant part) to FELONIES. This is consistent with the above-cited statutory law, which is basically a codification of this Common Law concept.
All you do is lie liberal Hank
AGAIN, “unlawful entry” is NOT a felony.
Yet another swing and miss for STD.

It’s an invasion by a hostile militia, we should shoot on sight

No, you're describing the people that are illegally sneaking into our country to steal from hard working taxpayers.

This is pretty simple.
There is no way the govt is going to allow organized armed groups, not affiliated with some level of govt to act unmolested. No govt does.
The guy is a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Anyone past grade school knows you get arrested for that. Wrapping yourself in the flag and pointing out someone else breaking the law doesn’t get you off the hook.
