His comments to InStyle magazine comes a day after Peter Navarro, the White House's director for the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, criticized Fauci in a USA Today op-ed for – among other things – claiming in February that the novel coronavirus was “low risk.”
“I see myself in that role as long as I feel that I’m being useful, and I’m valued in it, and the White House wants me,” Fauci said. “If any of the above change, then I would step down.”

Trump's biggest mistake. He should have shitcanned him on March 16th. Government bureaucrat that talks out both sides of his mouth and has been wrong on every single thing he predicted. Trump should also fire Scarfface while he's at it. This stupid taskforce they came up w/ if full of excuses and alibis for the lefty governors/mayors to continue these shutdowns.

anyone with a brain knows fauci is going to show up on 60 minutes and all the Sunday talk shows sometime in October to tell the American people he worked closely with Trump and they should elect Joe Biden as president.

With Trump’s track record of firing anyone he even slightly disagrees with, Fauci’s position has always been to be as honest as possible with the public yet placate His Majesty. If he had been fired in March, who knows what direction health policy would have been. Yeah I know this boards response: strong economy, same deaths and muh freedom. In the end muh freedom made any policy useless.

“Hi Dr. Fauci. This is Wednesday. Could you resign from the Coronavirus Task Force so we can find someone who doesn’t speculate out loud so he has to them publicly change his mind if proven wrong so we can prevent further politicization of a fricking virus and mass confusion and panic? Thanks.”
