Again why am I explaining this to someone who claims to be a conservative?

Because he was specifically responding to your statement:

Personally I think its a bad day whenever the govt tries to protect anything

...which is absurd. You do realize that would apply to the government protecting our borders, right? Are you really against that?

I used the example of our borders being protected, he used the example of government run civil courts.

There is a distinction between small government conservatism and libertarian anarchy.

Thank you. I agree.

We have this system called the free market. Whenever a customer is unsatisfied with a product, he has an absolute freedom to conduct his business elsewhere, or even start a new business if its really egregious.

So if you contract with a company for a specific performance and they not only fail to perform what was contracted but also keep all your money, your remedy is to just forfeit all your money lost and hope the next company does better?

I am sorry but I do not subscribe to that. Civil courts perform an important role. They need to be reformed but not disbanded.

White men are legally discriminated against. Show me where black females are legally discriminated against. I’ll wait.

My goal post haven’t moved. The topic at hand was the legal discrimination of white men. Tell the class how black woman are discriminated against in an equal manner

Of course, in the original discussion legal discrimination was what was being discussed, with you even admitting that personal discrimination happens and isn’t what we are talking about

Individuals discriminating didn't seem to be the point of the OP.

No, but for women who are discriminated against, they often see it as their best legal option for increasing their revenue stream.

You do realize I didn't even imply that all women on welfare are discriminated against, don't you?

So you clearly implied that black women face discrimination (you can’t deny that), and when asked to elaborate you bitched out and basically said “gotta go, I hear my mother calling!” and then continued to post anyway.

I didn’t get involved yesterday but after I saw all the attempts to get you to respond and you continuously making lame excuses I became enthralled in watching you squirm some more.

This was sad....

I always find it a bit interesting that some conservatives think net neutrality was a bad thing, and consequently the "free market" a good thing. Yet those same people also often favor heavy regulation of facebook, twitter, etc.

Quite the interesting paradigm...

I would hate to ask you to read through it again, I know I won't, but the guy is simply dishonest. I was simply saying you can't blame poor people for laws they didn't pass. The vast majority of laws passed in this country have been largely by white men. Look at women's suffrage, white men were the ones who gave the vote to women. Similarly with aid to mothers with dependent children, a welfare program passed in a SS act in the 30's, largely by white men, an attempt to give aid basically to widows and orphans. Unfortunately there have been unintended economic consequences of the program. It incentivizes increasing revenue streams by having children out of wedlock. Are some of these women disadvantaged by discrimination? Yes, I believe black women are discriminated against in this country. Do I believe it's institutional? Yes. Do I believe it's legal? No.

The evidence of this are all the vain attempts at trying to provide some sort of equal opportunity. Obviously, their opportunities have been and are still relatively limited.

I believe the welfare system is deeply flawed, but I don't blame the people who take advantage of it, I blame the people responsible for making it and fixing it - and that's not going to be poor people.

I also believe so called equal opportunity programs don't actually provide much opportunity, statistically speaking.

And I'm at a loss to have to explain why I think black women are discriminated against in this country. I've spent over 50 years in the South, it's self-evident, it's not some big secret.

So you wanted to call me out, and there it is, my position ITT. peej was just dishonestly trying to bait me into ridiculous statements, while making several himself, IMO.

No I’m not.

No, but you can blame them for abusing it and making shite arse decisions like having children they can’t afford.

Yes, I believe black women are discriminated against in this country. Do I believe it's institutional? Yes. Do I believe it's legal? No.

Please, for the love of god, give us examples mon frere. I can name you LEGAL ways that white men are discriminated against ON TOP of the illegal ways
quote:

By their own doing. You have a child young and out of wedlock, chances are you’re going to be poor.

quote:

believe the welfare system is deeply flawed, but I don't blame the people who take advantage of it, I blame the people responsible for making it and fixing it - and that's not going to be poor people

The blame should absolutely be on those who abuse it. ITS THEIR FAULT. THEY MADE A CONSCIOUS DECISION TO ABUSE IT.

quote:

I also believe so called equal opportunity programs don't actually provide much opportunity, statistically speaking

Because it puts people who aren’t qualified in places they don’t belong.

Example a

Example b

Example c

To summarize:

You blame the people who created it and it’s somehow important that their skin color happened to be white. Other skin colors that abuse the system aren’t important and can’t be blamed, they’ve been ‘institutionally’ discriminated against in other facets. White men are the problem for creating a system to aid these individuals that are taking advantage of it.

You see the issue here?

But you can't blame rich white businessmen for taking advantage of unintended economic incentives in the tax code, for example? When the government offers economic incentives, people will take advantage - that's econ 101.

I can name you LEGAL ways that white men are discriminated against

And I'm telling you, if they are, it's their own fault as they've pretty much been passing all the laws.

Ahhhh blaming the victim. I guess it’s that chicks fault for getting raped bc she was dressed provactively eh?

I notice you still haven’t given a single example on how black women are discriminated against. Still floundering about eh?

Yes, I blame bad law on the people who are responsible for the stewardship of our laws. Those people have, for the most part, been white men in this country. It was important in THAT thread, because the title was something about white men being discriminated against. If there are laws discriminating against white men, and white men passed the laws, who the frick else is there to blame?

If all these beta arse cucks want me to pity the white man, I'm sorry, I just don't have it in me. Have at it.

I'm not even really sorry.

Ah yes man. White people are responsible for all the evil in the country. Poor minorities are so helpless they fall victim at every turn. We need more people like you to help these poor helpless, dependent people to the promise land. You seem to believe they aren't capable of making good decisions

Kinda smells like racism

If you remain an open platform then you get a pass from regulations.

If you promote political content from one party while suppressing the other you get classified as a content distributor and media outlet and you get all the regulation that comes with that.

If you use a social media platform like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram daily; you get your news from those sites; and you participate in identity politics and nonsensical Multilevel marketing scams then you are an idiot and you deserve all of the violations of privacy and speech to which you subject yourself.

The answer here is not regulate social media via government intervention and growth of power. It is to use the free market. Stop going on those worthless websites and apps. Nothing good comes from them. And they are not in any way shape or form important enough to endow the federal government with extra powers and bureaucracy.

the answer here is to maintain a neutral net if you catch my drift
