Sorry but it's all bullshite. People were crying "muh deepstate" even when a Trump appointed judge signed a warrant. It is politically expedient for Trump and his followers to lessen the credibility of law enforcement and the intelligence community strictly because of Russia's role in the election. People are following Trump like sheep because he is telling them what they want to hear.

Our intelligence community and federal law enforcement have zero credibility because of their past actions, not because of Trump. Seriously, why would anyone trust the CIA or NSA to be forthright when their job is to lie, manipulate, deceive and, in the CIA's case, assassinate leaders and foment coups and wars around the globe? When Bush was President, the very people on here venerating the intelligence establishment were singing the exact opposite tune. Now they can do no wrong.

The only post i didnt reply to focused on origin of terminology rather than current usage. I interpret the OP to be focused on how "the deep state was formed" as the term is used today. The answer to that question is based on political expediency and not on the answer you gave. The idea that there is an active conspiracy among civil servants against Trump is unfounded. Conversely, Trump and his supporters are highly motivated to attack law enforcement and intelligence community because of their position that the evidence indicates Russian interference likely helped Trumps campaign.

The "deep state" is an invention by those who wish to subvert justice and democracy. There is no unified "deep State" in any real sense in part because government officials rarely agree on anything.
