I agree completely. That's why we need to elect representatives and leaders who are godly and actually seek justice. We aren't to take it into our own hands.

I'm not speaking to justice, but to personal vengeance and retribution. The Count of Monte Cristo is a book about personal vengeance. The Count wasn't a government representative who executed justice according to the laws of the land, but sought to settle the score against those who personally wronged him. That's exactly what the Bible forbids Christians (and all people, ultimately) from doing.
