Does anyone else think it’s weird Lisa Bloom and David Boies are representing the Epstein victims after they both used black cube to harass Weinstein accusers? What is really going on here?

Actually, no. They’re likely working pro bono or contingency. Think of the bigger picture- There are thousands of well-regraded plaintiff’s attorneys who have never shaken down an assault victim. Why choose two who have?

Because they're considered elite in their field?

Or are we supposed to go conspiratorial here?

There’s no “supposed” to- I don’t have any secret answers. I just think it’s strange that out of many elite lawyers in this country, two with questionable backgrounds re the treatment of high-profile sexual assault victims would be especially interested in, and promoted as, representing Epstein’s victims. A conspiracy is just two or more people working together to accomplish an end. The term need not be a dog whistle for images of tin foil hatters waiting for the second coming of alien lizards or whatever...

I think we get the chan style. It's all about "asking questions" (asking leading questions).

The fact that you classify my question as leading projects more about your thoughts on the matter than anything I’ve stated. I definitely think something is going on, but I’m not sure exactly what and was hoping to engage with an online community to share theories.

I used to have some small regard for Boies. However, what he and his firm did in handling the Theranos litigation (also his being on that company’s corporate board), changed my opinion of him. He certainly has made himself very rich, but remember the old adage about not judging a man’s character by the size of his wallet.

I agree. I liked when he partnered with Olson on the Prop 8 case, but so much of that is just for show/public relations. I really was disgusted with the Black Cube scandal, and it raises my hackles that he’s now being presented as some sort of victims advocate. It’s too much of a 180 turn in media portrayal.

Dont forget the "an act in furtherance of" element, legally speaking (I do note your esq, so not telling you anything new). Anyhoo, that part's often overlooked. Just speaking in general here, but unless and until there is an act by one or more parties to the conspiracy, it is indeed a mere theory.

My concern is that they’re taking on these cases to do damage control- i.e. settle quietly with a non-disclosure signed. I think the whole ugly mess needs the daylight disinfectant treatment.

Who are you?

That was somewhat subtle. Why do you want people to follow this thread?

@Lima- I’m a person who had a peek behind the curtain and is disgusted by business as usual, especially when it comes to intelligence agencies and their little schemes. I want people to see this thread and think just a little harder about what they’re told and who they trust.

Speaking of small legal worlds... Let's not forget Alan Dershowitz and Ken Starr defended Epstein in the Florida case.

Good reminder! Also interesting to note that a) Rod Rosenstein and Starr worked together on the Clinton investigation and b) Dershowitz’s connections to the fairly pro-Trump Kardashians (OJ).
Could there genuinely be two warring factions? If so, is the heart of the matter Epstein or is the Epstein case a proxy war of sorts for an elite/deep state? I found this article- it is pretty well-written and comprehensive re the dispute between Boies and Dershowitz over the last 5 years. The article also goes into more depth about Boies’ use of Mossad (even to the detriment of his own client, the Times)

LINK

“he was representing the New York Times in legal matters without telling the newspaper that he was simultaneously representing Weinstein, who was being investigated by Times reporters. Boies also secretly oversaw an effort to undermine the paper’s reporting by hiring a firm that employed former agents of the Israeli intelligence service, Mossad, to collect information on Times reporters and Weinstein’s alleged victims.”
