Let's all drive electric cars and charge them at night.

These fricks never cease to amaze me ...

Don't worry shreveport folks. Swepco is building a gazillion dollar solar farm up I-49 towards Arkansas that will increase output by almost 10%.

It’s coming boys/girls

Fuel costs are typically a direct pass through to the ratepayer/customer (utility does not make $ on fuel)

I know a large utility and its operating companies will be under recovered on fuel costs to the tune of $Bs by the end of the year

I’m sure it will be couched as the evil power companies too when this rise comes to pass

Stolen elections have consequences and we are getting a hefty dose of them.

Universal energy supply for all. Energy is a right, not a want.

Too bad electric cars are worse for the environment. The main plan in it is to restrict our travel.

Europe will now classify fossil fuels as “green fuels”. They’re quick learners.

Unfortuantely electric cars are not there yet hopefully one day with better technology.

People are really going to freak when they realize that it could take half a day to charge an electric vehicle if the battery is low.

Right before the 2020 election, I argued with my mom that this was going to happen. I told her that two years into a Biden presidency*, we would be paying $5+/gal for gasoline and our utility bills would increase by an average of about $1000/yr.

Of course she shot back with the typical lefty response, "cite your source", to which I responded with links to several respected financial and economic institutions that predicted exactly what we're seeing today.

Ultimately, she basically called me a fringe conspiracy theorist, and overreactionary. I even tried and tried to not talk politics, but she just kept pushing and pushing me until I finally broke down and said my piece. The thing that literally made me laugh was when she said "Trump is corrupt, evil and mean spirited. He's not a nice man. He's not your friend. I don’t necessarily think Biden will be a strong President because he's a pushover, but at least he's nice".

Talked to her a few days ago. Her utility bills are up 15%. Her grocery bills are up 20%. Gas in her town is exactly $6/gal, double what it was 2 years ago. And wouldn't you know it, I tried to bring up politics for the first time ever with her and she said, "No. Drop it. Don't even go there."

TDS is real.

Sorry about my digress. Just had to vent that.

Our utility bills will triple inside of ten years when every utility has to upgrade most of their infrastructure to account for the 30% increase in loading from EV CHARGING.

That cost will be passed on.

Level 1 slow chargers take about 8 hours.
Level 2 takes about 2 hours
Level 3 about 45 min

L1 will be at most people’s homes and commercial fleets where they charge them at night.

L2 and L3 will be what you see around town.

My power bill was $82 last month. I ran more miles than I drove last month. My diet is spinach salad, steak, deer and wild salmon. I’m constructing a house in Morgan County Utah. Leave me alone.
