Desantis was the “political” / “polished” version of trump. I’m shocked how y’all don’t remember this lol. Their politics and supporters were one and the same.

Trump was praising Charlie Crist and shitting on DeSantis 3 days before the 2022 election. Trump and his butt buddies Richard Barris and Mike Lindell were pissed when DeSantis beat Crist.

This isn’t a trump thing.

Hack pollster and Trump arse-kisser Richard Baris weighs in on why the GOP is losing.

I know. Trump says mean things when you become his opponent. Still doesn’t change the fact that they had shared support.

It's weird that voters in Kentucky seemed to really like the guy who wasn't "MAGA enough". Where was his punishment?

VA - State houses
The Democrats will hold the Virginia Senate.
Ohio Issues 1&2 will both pass.
There was some hope in GOP circles that they would be able to flip the New Jersey Assembly. That does not seem to be in the cards as the Democrats have instead flipped at least 5 GOP Assembly seats tonight.
Tate Reeves will be reelected as Governor of Mississippi.
The Democrats will FLIP the VA House of Delegates
The Democrats will win the open PA Supreme Court seat.
Well those are all of the major races to be decided. Not a great night for the GOP when the highlight is that the incumbent Republican Governor of Mississippi will probably avoid a run-off and get just over 50%.

Trump should've been a team player and united behind the common good, which was ensuring a red wave and uniting the party.

Same thing in GA and AZ.
Kemp and Raffensperger received the most votes of any state-wide candidate last year. Trump's hand-picked candidate for Senate, Herschel Walker, was the only state-wide GOP candidate who lost.
The 4 state-wide Republican candidates in AZ who were obsessed with the 2020 election (Lake, Masters, Finchem, Hamadeh) all lost. Meanwhile, Kimberly Yee, the State Treasurer, won. The GOP candidate for School Superintendent won as well and flipped that seat. He was not obsessed with the 2020 election.

Yea true, but desantis also could have pledged not to run. Just saying. It’s also something that could have transpired.

Trump promised we'd never see him or hear from him ever again, and therefore not run in 2024 if he wasn't re-elected in 2020.

Kind of negated when he decided to run for president?

The world is on fire and MAGA thinks we should have a coronation for a guy that is going to wipe out the GOP in 2024.

It's incredible how mentally weak the majority of GOP voters are. When HW Bush lost re-election in 1992 they rightfully told him to never show his face in politics again and go frick himself. And unlike Trump, Bush actually was screwed. He has a Republican spoiler, Ross Perot, taking away millions and millions of his votes.
Trump loses re-election to a dementia patient and he is still embraced and allowed to have more turns. Fricking pathetic.

Bro desantis was literally MAGA and would almost certainly still be if things didn’t transited the way they did. So his support is based on the fact that trump turned on him? I’m trying to understand his base of support.

The problem is that if DeSantis had waited until 2028, Trump would still run again after he loses in 2024. He's going to have unlimited turns and keep running until he's dead.

I'm trying to understand why a guy that lost to Joe Biden is still relevant

Presley concedes in Mississippi.

Because he’s going to almost certainly be the nominee and this was likely always going to be the case, hence why I’m just questioning if things could have been done differently
