Why is that a unique "no no"...a free pass to thug behavior? Why?

It's not a free pass to thug behavior.

Just like there's no such thing as a free pass to racial slurs being dropped as purposeful pejoratives.

The only participants in this brouhaha were assholes. All around.

So speaking a single word is just like physical violence?? How so?

Are you seriously, shocked by this? They hit her, so she called them naggers and they hit her more. In your world do violent young people tend to dial back violence when they're called derogatory names?

Reacting that way to words gives them power. Ignoring such words takes all the power away from them. As long as the people being called that word give it all the power it will continue to be used by ignorant moronic racists. The way to counteract ignorance is with intellegnce and maturity not more ignorance and violence.

Not all minorities are alike. Some minorities do generate low expectations.

Like it or not these assailants and those that support them are the folks for who the N word was coined.

I really can't think of an age except maybe 1950s South when that wouldn't end badly.

Bringing up the 50s south...you seem to be "understanding" the violence against blacks back then when a black would be perceived as insulting a white person?
Again...what is the value of living in the sensibilities of the past?

What does that have to do with whether or not it is unwise to throw around "naggers" on a black, ghetto bus? In fact, if a little violence has already been dealt, I would think that makes it even more clear that it would be a really, really bad idea.

Because, right here, you imply that the assault was a result of what she said:
quote:

but to imagine that the outcome would be anything different is retarded.

That outcome is that she was assaulted, which occurred prior to her use of the word.

A lot of you are attempting to equate the ill-thought out words of an assaulted and scared old woman with the people who assaulted her and it's bullshite.

Sure, she shouldn't have said it but shifting blame to her, especially considering that she'd already been hit in the head, is disingenuous.

I think it's Hilarious that they can say "n word" to each other and that's ok. But if a white person says it, then that's acceptable to throw hands...save me the equality BS, when it's unacceptable for one race then it's unacceptable for all. Also, does anyone else find it funny that they can call it "chocolate city"...can white people get away with that? Can go either way, white person says I'm not going to DC/New Orleans it's a chocolate city...or This is a White city! RACIST!!!

So calling people n***** is the only defense against getting physically assaulted? That makes no sense.

SO we are back to certain words are illegal. What if she was crying and called them sons of bitches? Would that word have been ok?

again, screaming and yelling are forms of defense against being attacked.

quote:

She isn't blameless. Neither were the other parties. Both successfully attempted to be offensive, and all looked like idiots in the process.

You just proved the above. You stated her reaction to being hit was to be offensive. That put her on "offense".....

This is all of what you just suggested. Sorry retard, that is not at all what I suggested.

But it was. Everything about what you suggested was to leave all of that out and get to the part where the elderly lady was the cause of her own beat down.

Dude, I'm not blaming her or saying that it was ok for those thugs to assault her, simply that it was a really bad idea to call them naggers. I can't believe you think this is debatable.

Sure, she shouldn't have said it but shifting blame to her,

Really? Saying it's a bad idea for an old white lady (or any white person) to get on a black, ghetto bus, tell some young thugs to turn their music down, get popped once, and respond to said hit with "naggers" is victim blaming?

If a guy thinks he can swim anywhere he wants, goes for a swim in the Nile River and gets eaten by a crocodile...can I suggest that it was a bad idea without being accused of victim blaming?

bullshite. It had to start somewhere, don't you agree? If the racist black thugs had not slapped her in the head, all parties would have simply gotten off the bus at their destination.
That type of silencing for saying the wrong thing is no different than the leftists who silence people by harassing and doxxing anyone who "says the wrong thing" or "has the wrong values".

meh. i dont use the word, but i give people a pass after things get physical for no reason. hitting the elderly and calling someone a name are hardly comparable.

nothing special about being black. "oh no! that one word thats only bad when whitey uses it!" wtf ever.

pos need to have their heads chopped off in public for hitting an old women and being trashy/antagonistic.

Thanks professor! I'm sure that's the kind of nuanced thinking that trickles through the brains of young, black thugs living in ghetto America.
