Early voting this AM

The wife is having dental surgery so after dropping her off I came to the BREC facility on South Harrell's Ferry to do my early voting.
I got here around 7:40 and the line was already around the back of the building and winding away from it. I've been here over 15 minutes and while people have steadily continued to show up, we haven't moved a single step (I thought it opened at 7?).
Pics of the line (but not the wife) to follow.

So the voting actually started at 8am. I was done by 8:34am so they did a really good job of running us through efficiently.
Walking up to the facility around 7:40am. The entrance is on the left side of the picture.
The line in front of me when I made my post...
The line behind me when I made my post...
When I left the line, although moving fairly steadily, was still wrapped around the back of the building.
It's going to be funny if everyone voted early and no one shows up on Election Day.

Took me 40 minutes day before yesterday...I go there at 3:30 ..same location.

The wife voted here around 2pm yesterday, took her about an hour. I was hoping that being so early the line would be a bit shorter. If it is, it won't be by much. The line has started moving but I am still outside the building.

My wife (also no pics) early voted here yesterday. Took her about 20 minutes. NV got another Trump vote he didn't have in 2016.
I will cast another vote he didn't have in 2016 when I'm back in town on Friday.

The Democrats are currently very slow at voting in Nevada. They do have a lead thanks to Vote-by-Mail, but Republicans are winning the early-in-person voting.
Clark County currently has VERY low turnout. This could actually put Nevada in serious play for Trump.

Help me understand the early voting logic.
Unless you're going to be out of town on election day and unable to vote then, what's the advantage in standing in line to early vote versus standing in line to vote on election day?
Not trying to be a smartass, just wondering if I'm not seeing some logic here in favor of early voting.

for me, i don't have it hanging over my head that I HAVE to vote election day. i've got some travel coming up and I just didn't want to get into a spot where I didn't know if i'd have time later.
i went the first day and waited 3 hours. I didn't mind it at all.

Just making sure I'm not sick or something else (like my mom getting sick) prevents me from voting.
I prefer voting in person, so will do it early.

In every other instance of voting I've participated in over the decades, early voting was far faster than waiting until Election Day. Also, by getting it done early I can mark "voting" off my list (voting is one of those things I hate feeling like I am doing "last-minute").

I guess my experience has been different from yours.
The only time I've early voted (in the 2012 presidential election) I had to stand in line over an hour at the La. Secretary of State's building on Essen Lane which is the closest early voting location to where I live.
The longest I've ever stood in line on election day at my precinct was about 15 minutes and that was the Trump vs. Hillary election in 2016.
Plus my precinct location is about a half mile from my house so I can walk there if I'm so inclined. The Sec of State's building for early voting is about 5 miles from me.
I was just trying to evaluate if I'm missing out on something by not early voting. Thanks for your explanation.
