I don't support Trump because I don't support gun-grabbers.
The excuses his cult makes for him - that he is easily fooled into making horrible cabinet picks does not explain his choice of CHUCK CANTERBURY to lead the ATF.
Gun Owners of America and all other 2A groups, including the usually-worthless NRA told Trump not to nominate Canterbury who backs semi-auto bans and red flag laws.
Trump nominated him anyway.
The RINOs in the senate balked. They would not confirm Canterbury. Even little Lindsey Graham said no way, this guy is ANTI GUN.
They convinced Trump to pul the nomination.
Trump did AND THEN RE-NOMINATED the gun grabbing POS to run the ATF.
He then only pulled that nomination in March 2020 so as not to hurt his campaign.
He knew exactly what he was doing. he also knew no one in his cult would hold it against him.
Trump is a dishonest buffoon. As soon as he is in office again he won't need the cult and he will stab you all in the back like he does everyone.
He will side with the dems on gun control for three good lines of press in the NY Times. He will then talk about how cult idiots came to him with tears in their eyes thanking him for taking their guns.

The "hate" for Trump is no less irrational than the "love" for Trump. Things are never as "bad" nor as "good" as they appear in politics.
Trump has many flaws, but he is not the devil incarnate. The same can be said for Obama.
Biden is just a tired old man that is little more than a figurehead of the former Obama regime. Democrats insist that Trump is the easiest GOP candidate to defeat, yet none want to challenge Biden in order to run against him. I think that is telling.
I think the discourse in the thread, and on the forum and greater body politic, would be greatly improved if everyone simply called anyone with a differing viewpoint stupid.

Trump was the first president in a very long time that cared for the long term well being of the American population more than his own interests. Being very rich certainly helped him do that, but the man has a long and exhaustively documented history of loving the country and the people in it. Everyone magically forgot that and did a 180 on him when he ran as a republican, and the media influence bled out all over the place.
How specifically is Trump a gun grabber? Is it because of the bump stock thing?
Whether y'all like him or not his policies and actions made this country and the people in it better.

Honestly I don't have a thorough knowledge of who Chuck Canterbury is, but while I look into it, explain any actions Trump or his ATF took to grab guns or clamp down on the second amendment outside of banning the novelty bump stock toy.

FWIW I think bump stocks are silly, but it reveals his mindset. If he thinks the American public thinks that assault rifles are silly, he'll ban them just as quickly. He wants to be liked and popular.
