There is a requirement that the President and VP cannot be from the same state. Both live in NY so one would have to move.

Of course one could come to TX and the other to FL. (But by then we may want a TX-FL pairing of Abbott and DeSantis in some order, DeSantis is younger so he can be VP)

Ted Cruz or Ivanka. I think either of them could win in 2024. Not sure about anyone else.

What I find interesting in this tongue and cheek thread I started and read the other "who's next" after the Trump era is that no one is talking about Mike Pence. He's been the dutiful VP and there is no appetite for him.

Republicans have gotten really used to a highly charismatic President and any "more cerebral" conservative is really going to struggle.

With what DeSantis is doing in Florida, it will be hard to top him.

Cruz or Rand would be fine by me.

Only reasonable answer. I was all in for Cruz in '16, but glad things have turned out like they have.

I'm thankful for Trump for a multitude of reasons, but one of the biggest is he's laid out the groundwork for other conservatives to follow in dealing with Dem's/Media. It's ok to take off the gloves and fight back.

be put on the Supreme Court if Clarence Thomas retires

I'd go with that.

My choice would be Abbott for POTUS with DeSantis as VP, then in 8 years DeSantis runs for POTUS. Both TX and FL are doing extremely well economically, and at day's end voters vote their pocketbook.
