DOJ sues Yale for considering race during admissions process

The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit on Thursday against Yale University accusing the school of race and national origin discrimination in its college admissions process.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, accuses Yale University of violating federal civil rights laws for “at least 50 years” by making admission decisions based on a candidate’s race.
It alleges the university uses an “oversized, standardless, intentional use of race” in its process which favors Black and Hispanic students.
DOJ alleges that Yale University’s practices place “undue and unlawful penalties on racially-disfavored applicants, including in particular most Asian and White applicants,” according to a press release.
“Instead of using race in a narrow, time-limited, and targeted manner to achieve specific and defined educational goals, Yale has institutionalized its use of racial preferences as a permanent feature of its admissions process and decisions,” the complaint said.
The DOJ argues that Yale University can instead create a diverse school body through considering “race-neutral alternatives,” such as socio-economic status and geographic location, and ending favoring of legacy admissions.
Assistant Attorney General Eric Dreiband for the Civil Rights Division said in a statement that “illegal race discrimination by colleges and universities must end.”

I hope they come after Stanford next. When I was there it was painfully obvious who got in based on different standards than everyone else.

I hope they do this to every single university that has ever accepted a federal dollar and then put out a statement about how they havent done enough to foster a safe environment for poc. Or whatever the standard kneeling to blm statement is these days that all these schools put out.
I've seen several where the schools openly admit that there is institutional racism at their university. So if that's the case, sue them and make them argue in court that there isn't institutional racism there. Win win either way

I had to check to make sure this wasn’t a Babylon Bee article. Awesome.

Odds on this being used by the MSM as "Trump used his DOJ to target universities trying to give POCs a leg up against inherent racism" is very high.
Almost as if scripted by DS to keep the race angle alive.
Maybe I am being paranoid...

Would have expected this at Brown.

There is systematic and institutional racism in this country and it is 100% in favor of minorities.

Corporate America up next, the number of times I have sat in HR meetings and discussed quotas for blacks at various levels, openly discarding better qualified whites for promotions, because WE HAD to fill that position with a black. Then watch managers fight over the least qualified "best choice" for fear of being stuck with a Howard grad whose degree was usually in "institutional racism and how to sue your employer".

Howard's a good school. It's not Southern.

Yale University has been busy taking donations from countries hostile to the US.
Lying about donations
They have much explaining to do
