That’s an asinine position.
Congress certainly can mandate the preservation of records of our government for continuity of government and legitimacy of decision-making purposes. There’s also an argument to be made that preserving the historical record further legitimizes government for, by, and of the people.
I’m struggling to think of a non-nefarious purpose as to why the Trump admin would take this position.

Didn’t you hear? They did it because of the FBI raid on Mar-a-lago, so the actual consequences of trashing the PRA don’t matter

Good point. I now understand how reduced transparency of federal govt would be a good thing for generations to come.

In other words if a president wants to legally hide documents, he just has to move them from the White House or destroy them.
If you don't like it, blame the Biden DOJ who used the PRA to try to arrest Trump. Trump is simply protecting himself from the lawfare you democrats support.
You idiots invented laws and broke every norm to go after him. This is on you and your fellow scum.

The PRA is about transparency and accountability, and it doesn’t apply to one administration.

No dipshit, the PRA was not invented in the 21st century.
