I thought he was possibly using it to launder money from his "art" sales

Neither scenario would surprise me

Laundering money... Nothing to see here, obviously...

I think he only discovered his love of art and passion for neo-impressionism watercolors after the big guy was already in the White House.

Which also seems oddly coincidental...

Yes, because many of the laundering ATM pathways were shut down during Trump's first term.

Joe only claimed $16k on his taxes as well, not the full 50k

Indeed.

For a fun little thought experiment, pretend Don Jr. or Eric reported paying their dad $50k/month for rent on a property on one doc, reported that they owned that same property outright on another (a federal firearms background check form, no less), and that Dad underreported income received on that owned property to the tune of $36k/month.

Hell, just imagine if you underreported your income by $36k ONCE, much less monthly and picture the righteous fury that would befall you from the IRS in the form of fees and penalties assessed.

Now acknowledge the realities that all of the usual suspects in the Beltway are telling you that this is a nothingburger, and that conservatives are blowing this out of proportion.

Burisma paid Hunter $83,000 a month, just to keep things accurate

Given what a monumental frick-up Hunter was, I always assumed he basically lived off an allowance that was a fraction of what he "earned" on the board of Burisma, etc, and the lion's share of it went to Joe for access.

We’ve known for years the “big guy” gets his cut. Why is anyone surprised? Now, we just know how.

We've been told by folks on the inside that this was the case. What we're seeing now is the evidence that proves it.

There's a massive distinction. The first position is taken on faith that what you're being told is accurate. The second is backed up with proof.

For the year, joe received 600K from hunter. He failed to report rents received to the tune of 584K and change.
