The 70s were low growth, high inflation... "Stagflation". It was a tough time. Reagan and Volker fixed it.

The military was a shambles after Vietnam. Reagan revived it.

The Soviet were dominant in the late 70's. Reagan broke them.

But he wasn't the same when he got shot. And, just like Trump, deep staters abounded in his administration. He opened the flood gates on immigration and we never recovered from it.

Good man. Solid President. In the end, just like with Trump, the deep state outlasted him.

I think the deep state's always been there, thus "outlasts" every President. It possibly could even be compared to a 4th branch of the federal government.

Reagan was great. Not perfect but still a great POTUS.

Got smoked by libs on immigration. He was hit-n-miss on supreme court justices:
Scalia - great
Rehnquist - very good
O'Connor - blah
Kennedy - full flop

His "It's Sunrise in America" speech is amazing.

Great POTUS. Tough fighter. Articulate. Conservative. Hard to belief he came from CA.

Reagan had to fight the Swamp (bureaucracy) every single day.

State Dept has been chock full of leftists for decades. He even had to put "Tear Down this Wall" back into his speech several times after State Dept reviewed it and removed that line.

He and Pope John Paul and Margaret Thatcher were all studs. Just compare that to the putrid leadership in those positions now.

Reagan was a wonderful President.

I highly recommend spending a day at the Reagan Library in California. It’s an experience you won’t forget. The tour ends up at his grave site. It’s hard to have a dry eye by the time you see all that he did for America. The man was a true patriot.

Much like Trump, he spent most of his life developing his policy positions and was compelled to be President because he saw the damage that was being done to this nation by progressives and RINO Republicans.

When I was little I thought Reagan would always be the President. My Grandfather (fathers dad) was a lifelong blue dog Democrat, who was very active in La Politics. My Grandmother (fathers mom) took my mother to see Reagan in City Park in my hometown when he was in the primary and convinced my whole family to vote for him.

We used to pray for the hostages in Iran and then the Catholics in Poland suffering under those damn Marxists. Reagan fixed both those problems and loved jellybeans. I thought he was awesome.

GHWB - was a globalist and a political compromise with the GOPe. Reagan’s brand of conservatism died in the Bush years; or at least rested for 40 yrs until Trump showed up.

Like the Orange Man- Reagan’s best accomplishments were his foreign policy ones. He challenged the political establishment and was a threat to both political parties. He also believed in space force, and peace thru strength.

Reagan truly was The Great Communicator. He is still my favorite President ever.
