re: Does congress even know what SCOTUS just did to the agencies? Networks are giddy about TX.

They can still push it through legislation, but Congress critters will have to put their names on it.
They will probably just hide them in 2,000 page bills, but it's still a big blow to power three letter agencies have.

Reporting from a traffic jam Re: Tx case - It never made sense to me that a court could order a President (even a fake one) to continue to enforce an order that the president before him issued.
That would give executive orders the force of legislation violating the concept of separation of powers

EPA cannot arbitrarily make environmental regulations.
Congress has to make them before the EPA can enforce them.
Basically making congress do its job.
What it amounts to is that instead of a govt agency(EPA) being allowed to set the rules (a.k.a- make the laws) about green policy, the legislature must pass the law....HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Can this case be used to overturn daca?

But didn’t these mfers sue trump over DACA? Isn’t daca exactly the same as remain in Mexico? A executive order created term with no congressional authorization?

Big Coal Manchin will get right on that
Natural Gas means more to the WV economy now than coal, I did not realize that til I read an article and wanted to fact check. Think that is a large part of Manchin just getting fed up. You diss coal so we give you clean energy and then you diss us on that, enough is enough.

My phone just told me that the Supreme Court has removed the ability of the EPA to fight climate change thereby endangering all of us (complete with WAPO picture of coal, slag heaps, and chimneys belching black smoke). Unbiased journalism.

And it will be used as the tip of the spear to rein in all sorts of bureaucracy. OSHA regs cant suddenly be used to "Mandate" vacines. Dept of Ed cant suddenly mandate masks, etc.
DEPT OF ENERGY cannot add arbitrary guidelines interpreting all sorts of vague green initiatives.
Dept of Interior cant close down the local farmer because a bear shits in the woods and there used to be a stream there 80 years ago.

As an attorney, what do you think will happen with all the regulations that were made (previous years) by different agencies?
(Not a law that congress passed, as it should be)
Will those regulations be nullified? Or just any regulations from here on out?

Yeah, steam locomotives aren't making a comeback. Unfortunately.

if some autist could snag that shot and shop in the sky screamer with the ski hat, that would be fantastic.

Judging from the reactions from Dem members of congress…maybe they do know they were just neutered.

Yup, looks like Chucky just figured it out:

Schumer Statement On MAGA Court's Dangerous Decision In West Virginia v. EPA Washington, D.C. -
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer issued the following statement today in response to the Supreme Court's decision in West Virginia v. EPA. *First on gun safety, then on abortion, and now on the environment - this MAGA, regressive, extremist Supreme Court is intent on setting America back decades, if not centuries. The Republican-appointed majority of the MAGA Court is pushing the country back to a time when robbers barons and corporate elites have complete power and average citizens have no say. "Just like last week's dangerously misguided and abhorrent decisions on gun safety and abortion, the extremist MAGA Court's ruling today in West Virginia v. EPA will cause more needless deaths - in this instance because of more pollution that will exacerbate the climate crisis and make our air and water less clean and safe. But make no mistake - the consequences of this decision will ripple across the entire federal government, from the regulation of food and drugs to our nation's health care system, all of which will put American lives at risk, making it all the more imperative that Democrats soon to pass meaningful legislation to address the climate crisis. "The decades-long fight to protect citizens from corporate abuses is being wiped out in a single case by extremist MAGA judges. "Today's decision adds to a number of dangerously outrageous decisions that have rightly tarnished the public's confidence in the Court - every Republican who had a role in putting these six justices on the bench are complicit in the devastating impacts of its extremist decisions." ###
