Not unless nukes get involved. As it stand, American boots on the ground would probably push the Russians to that point. They aren't going to take humiliation. That's why it needs to be a slow bleed out using Ukrainian lives. Otherwise, you get to deal with Poland and Belarus getting invaded next

So are other operatives and operators. I remember when we had ops killed in Africa a few years ago, most didn't realize (myself included) we had soldiers in Niger.

the SEAL that got killed there this past week was supposedly in a deserter status from the Navy for the last couple years...pretty convenient cover story if you ask me.
