Does anyone think the FISA application/court situation is linkedCongress CAN get all the docs if they REALLY want to. But they would have to essentially nuke the IC and DOJ/FBI/Homeland Security to ensure they get it all. Congress has the potential to defund all the agencies involved causing them to dry up and disappear. Last one left, turn out the lights and hand the keys to either POTUS or the leaders of the House and Senate. Almost to the point of saying: Do it!!!

Let's not forget the complicit (& sometimes criminal) media conglomerates. They have brainwashed a large portion of the American public. It is sickening and something needs to be done. A FREE press needs to be a fair press and not an arm of mind control.

I am not one of those who thinks Obama is the devil. His politics certainly aren't my cup of tea, but I don't see him as some sinister evil.

I felt this way in the past but each & every day brings me closer to: he is exactly evil & sinister. He just didn't care about the American people more than global people, which is NOT what a president should do.

My guess for the reason everyone is so tight lipped is they are protecting some sort of national security stuff (sources and methods) relating to our monitoring of Russia.

Then why can't the FBI answer the congressional committee requests in a confidential setting (not in a public hearing)? They represent US...THE PEOPLE who have a right to know. So tell our reps & that will suffice at this point.

I mean why would Sessions want to protect Obama? Makes no sense.

Because this country is torn apart politically as it is. If something happens to either Trump or Obama (hell, maybe even Hillary) then all hell could break loose. Look at all the lunatics going crazy since the election! It would be that but on steroids.

Obama got to appoint a few new FISA Judges and they may have played a big role in authorizing wire taps based on the Trump Dossier.

Except Obama doesn’t appoint the FISA judges. John Roberts does.

In theory, yes.

With these refusals to produce for supposedly authorized oversight committee's though, POTUS might actually have to order them produced by force. THAT would be just as messy or worse than allowing Congress to just yank the money rug out from under them.

It looks like the same judge that signed the FISA warrant also took Flynn's guilty plea. For the board lawyers is this highly irregular? How serious is it?

It’s why he recused before sentencing. In a plea, the judge is essentially there to make sure the Defendant is not under duress, not doped up, and knows the severity and seriousness of what he’s doing. There’s not much there for him to exercise his discretion on questions of law. All that is pretty much worked out between the lawyers beforehand.

Current Membership - Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court

Actually the new judge made Hillary explain why she needed a private server. Not very Clinton friendly

I was just looking at that...

quote:

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court was established in 1978 when Congress enacted the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which is codified, as amended, at 50 U.S.C. §§ 1801-1885c.

The Court sits in Washington D.C., and is composed of eleven federal district court judges who are designated by the Chief Justice of the United States. Each judge serves for a maximum of seven years and their terms are staggered to ensure continuity on the Court. By statute, the judges must be drawn from at least seven of the United States judicial circuits, and three of the judges must reside within 20 miles of the District of Columbia. Judges typically sit for one week at a time, on a rotating basis.

Pursuant to FISA, the Court entertains applications submitted by the United States Government for approval of electronic surveillance, physical search, and other investigative actions for foreign intelligence purposes. Most of the Court’s work is conducted ex parte as required by statute, and due to the need to protect classified national security information.

If this does get linked back to Obama, the trillion dollar question is how will Facebook cope with not being able to say the Obama era was scandal free?

I think the FBI and DOJ has essentially created a circumstance where their actions, weaponizing the US intelligence apparatus against political opponents, is too damaging of a truth to allow the public to know.

I say burn it down.

It is. It's all connected. Thats part of why the judge recused in the FLynn case. Allocution is a bitch.

Is Allocution a legal term, CB? If so, what does it entail? TIA.

It’s his word of the day. It’s when Flynn gets to address the Court before he’s sentenced. Supposedly this was all a setup so he can finger Obama during allocution

Flynn has to admit to the crime. That's what it means to plead guilty.

He also will get to say whatever he wants as a public, on the record statement.

He’s already admitted to the crime. That’s what he did the other day.

Allocution is more toward mitigation before being sentenced by the judge.
