Fred Durst is no genius, but he’s a clever troll, and he had a very talented band behind him. Rivers and especially Borland are really highly regarded players and songwriters.

Lmao. If you think Greenday is difficult then you have a lot to learn. There is absolutely nothing difficult about anything green day has ever written. Multiple people that play are telling you beginners can learn their music easily. Go learn some Megadeth or Metallica and get back to me.

Armstrong loves to say conservatives are uneducated and yet he’s a high school dropout. Hypocrite much.

Went to a frat reunion last weekend, only other guitar player at the event and I were discussing how hard Mustaine's leads and rhythms are to duplicate. Metallica is medium difficulty at best.

Metallica bass parts are a joke compared to 90’s Green Day. Metallica drum parts are a total joke. Lars is possibly the worst drummer to ever get famous. Metallica guitar parts can be quite challenging where Green Day’s are not.

You’re literally trying to lecture a touring musician, who has covered damn near every genre (on every instrument) under the sun, about music.

Dude, you’re wrong. It’s okay to be wrong. People you don’t like can make music you do like. Music you don’t like can take skill and creativity to make. People whom you typically don’t agree with can occasionally make a poignant statement about a specific issue or event without your worldview collapsing.

It’s crazy, I know.

Did Billie Joe say something offensive?

The problem is most of the criticism he had about the policies of the Bush administration disappeared when Obama took over even though he continued with many of those same policies.

Which makes him insincere

New Metallica is nowhere near what they use to be. I like the classical breakdowns that Kirk does in Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. I love playing some of the stuff off of Masters but yea its nowhere near as difficult of Megadeths stuff. Even the sick the dying and the dead is ridiculous. You should check out Kirks reaction to We'll be back. Its priceless.

You are high on crack to even remotely put green days elementary shite in the same sentence as Metallica. Cliff Burton is a fricking legend.

Load, Reload, and St. Anger are garbage albums. Ride the Lightning and the Black album are my favorites by them. Master of Puppets is really solid as well.

The Metallica albums since Death Magnetic have all been okay, but haven’t blown me away.

Rust in Piece is a masterpiece, but Megadeth has never come close to releasing anything half as good since.

I’m high on correct.

Green Day’s bass and drums parts are often MUCH more difficult and interesting than Metallica’s. I have played both, I have performed both. It’s not even close. Literally just go listen to the Dookie album and stop embarrassing yourself.

Wrong. Dystopia is one of the most underrated albums of all time. The sick the dying and the dead is bad arse as well.

You are apparently the only one that thinks that and plenty of people have played and performed both. Just by the albums you listed without first mentioning Masters, Killem all, Ride the lightning, Peace sells , Killing my business, So far so good so what, And Justice for all explains a lot.Never once in the historyvof music when top musicians discuss or disect top musicians has anyone with any talent or knowledge mentioned green day in any conversation.

This is simply not true. Now, you just may not like them as people. But to say they didn't have one good song is simply not true.

If you mostly hang out with guitarists, they’re going to talk about guitar driven bands. Green Day is not a band that has difficult guitar parts.

If you hang out with bassists who didn’t stop listening to music post Nevermind, and who listen to music other than metal, Mike Dirnt of Green Day is highly respected.

A LOT of music nerds were so butt hurt over Nirvana killing hair metal in 1991 that they basically stopped listening to any non-metal music that came out afterwards. As a result, they missed out on a LOT of music, some of which they might actually really like or at least appreciate if they listened to it. Instead, they just assume it’s all amateurish trash because a handful of bands made a point out of not playing guitar solos.

At least Billy Joe has been doing that look since he started. There’s a video from like 1990 of Green Day’s playing at their high school when they were like 15 years old, and Billie is already in exactly that Robert Smith wannabe getup. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
