I wouldn't necessarily agree with this. I've been in the North Dallas Suburbs for over 3 years and Abbott seems to revered here. Like in a can-do-no-wrong type of way.

Statewide sure. North Dallas suburb/Collin County -- same.

Dallas, Richardson, and some of the other near suburbs. Blue and probably not going back.

But Abbott is a lot like Cornyn. They don't invite the hate like Cruz does among the Dems in Texas.

I'm not trying to get into any particular fights, but my only point is that Dallas isn't only not a hard red county -- it's probably more sympathetic to strong stop the curve efforts.

It hasn't felt like that political of an issue here. At least to me. The general consensus about 10 days ago was that "Abbott is probably going to pull his head out, stop posting pictures of Corona beer, and put some stay in place rules down."

He's getting pretty high marks here in Dallas from most people.

No he is not, but reading you post tells us enough about you

Abbott is loved in Texas

Among Anglo voters, Abbott maintains 72 percent approval, as well as a 52 percent approval among African Americans and 60 percent among Hispanic voters.

Jenkins went bad arse to quick in the COVID panic storm. Most of the high marks he got will fade when reality sets in and actual data/facts emerge.

I love to point out how crappy Dallas County is here to the Dallas lovers, so I am biased. Seriously though it is a fricking cancer of a city/county and we have better places to eat in Collin- take that TH03

What Dallas county does isn't going to be appropriate for what Crockett county does.

Thank fricking God.

I was in Ozona once and never want to go back.

And I love for you to point that out, because the less rubes we have in Dallas, the better.

He's getting information from Dr. Phillip Huang who is the head of the Department of Health.

I know Phillip. We went to high school together and we're in the band together back at Lake Highlands High School.

Phillip is smart and a good guy. He's a local guy too, and has lots of family and friends in the area. I don't think he would do anything to intentionally hurt Dallas.

Hey! Both my kids went to LHHS.

We live just up the road. LH is pretty nice for shitty Dallas County...

Abbott, in general, is viewed by folks in Dallas, Houston, Austin and to some degree San Antonio as having moved too slowly. Most think he's an a-hole, but if we are getting specific about this issue...

Weird, the blue areas of Texas don’t like Abbott while the rest of the state love him? Who would’ve thought?

Abbott has done a good job of not being knee jerk reaction to all this like a lot of governors. He learned a lot from Harvey, same with Turner in Houston.

Hidalgo and Jenkins are on the other side

Maybe the OP, who doesn't seem like he understands the state.
