It comes as no surprise that a slimy leftist pr!ck like Beez-Wax would run a glorified sweatshop.

Amazon sucks on multiple levels, not the least of which is Beez-Wax's funding of the Washington Compost, a leftist propaganda rag that uninformed people think is real news.

DON'T FEED THE BEAST.

Don't buy from Amazon, because Beez-Wax wants to be a leftist kingmaker, and can only do that if you're paying him to be such. Support mom and pop shops instead.

I just don’t really feel bad for anyone regarding their position in life. I came from a single parent home and busted my arse to get through college. I had to take loans and make myself stand out and now I’m pretty damn comfortable. It ultimately falls upon the Orson to improve their position in life if they desire that.

Things shouldn’t be given to people just because there is money to do so. They should have to earn it.

I've hated a couple of my employers. Have felt underpaid. Know what I did? I found a new job and quit the old one. It ain't hard.

So you're being held to a standard and accountability...the horror.

quote:

Bates said Amazon should pay its workers a “living wage” with benefits that match living costs. Amazon touts that its workers start out earning more than $15 an hour. She also decried what she called the impersonal nature of management at the center, where employees are notified by text of work developments. She said this makes workers nervous about their job security.

$15 hr for low level employee...isn't that what they want as Minimum? She's being paid Double of Min wage...

quote:

“Why can’t a large and wealthy company do better for their workers?” she asked. “Amazon has made tons of money during the pandemic. Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world, and now he’s even richer... Yet they expect us not to expect anything we didn’t already have before we started to work there.”

Yeah, he's super wealthy...but how many people does he employ at double Min Wage? Don't be intellectually dishonest and pretend working at Amazon is like a sweat shop in China.

Majority on the left believe, if you're worth XYZ, you have that amount in the bank...

I know a farmer that has 5500 acres of prime farmland...just bc his wealth/worth is $15-$20MM doesn't mean he makes anywhere close to that.

Agreed, but a company has rights also. I'm not an Amazon fan, per se, but I do see the overall picture. You cannot force a company to exist or hire. If completely closed, do you think the Bessemer, AL distribution facility will hurt Amazon very much? Or, if unionization spreads across the entire country?

Here's what I do not understand coming from the Pro-union voter. When you were offered a position, were you not told what is expected from you and how much you will make?

It's easy to say, and it's hard to do. But it's necessary. Perhaps teens should be made to work in a sweatshop so they don't fool around in school and instead prepare themselves for a profession or a trade.

Congrats on the survivorship bias m'dude.

I too am a product of a single mother but I also realize that it is not easy for everyone. I got lucky and I realize that and readily admit as such.

I sure as frick won't simp for billionaires and megacorp Inc. like so many on this board.

Amazon treats their people like shite and everyone on this board handwaves as they pick up theire latest prime deliveries.

I hope you have good healthcare because you might have hurt yourself with that pivot.

That is not relevant and is not an argument against my point. Try again m'dude.

I've done that. I worked in both warehouses and as a Coca-Cola merchandiser when I was in HS and college. 50-60 hours a week in the summertime in non-air conditioned warehouses with very few breaks. Cold arsed gas station coolers after unloading a truck in the pouring rain.
Made sure I never had to do those jobs again by getting an education then building a network.

I too dislike bezos and Amazon and wish the entire company would get broken up, because nothing should be that big imo.

Have you ever been inside a running distribution center for them? I’ve helped build 4-5 of them now and they are all pretty damn nice and everytime I’ve been inside during work hours it’s just people doing their jobs. I haven’t seen any kid of ridiculous treatment.

And before someone says no benefits or low pay, those are not rights. They all have the option to increase their skill set for a higher wage or to alter their budgeting to afford their buddy Obama’s health plan.

Why is it so hard to grasp nuance with conservatives on this board?

There are structural problems that can make it difficult to succeed.

Also, someone has to do those jobs so you can get your prime deliveries.

Why are there so many heartless psychos here?

Explain the nuances then. Because it seems to be pretty cut and dry. Either you settle for the bottom or you don’t.

bullshite. The only thing stopping 99% of those in the US from doing better is themselves. Poor decisions were are your responsibility and you get to reap those consequences. The other 5% have mental or physical disabilities that add real hardship to their lives.

The world needs ditch diggers. There will always be a bottom rung to society because people will always choose poorly if given a chance. The individual doesn’t have to though.

Freedom has to include the freedom to fail, to make poor decisions, to learn and grow or to choose not to learn and grow. We cannot just run people’s lives and force them to choose better.

Amazon, Google, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook run state of the art facilities and possess the most powerful technology and expertise in the world.

And nobody should be simping for them in any capacity. They are evil.

Amazon is an evil, subversive, leftist corporation that operates like a parasite on the very people they despise.

Nobody cares about your dumb rags to riches clichés. I understand that this is all conservatard Inc wants you to think about, but it's time to let it go.

They are trying to make it sound like one of those iphone plants in China where employees routinely commit suicide at their workstation. Trust me, none of these Amazon employees would last a day at one of those place, yet that is the picture they are trying to paint.
