Article 1 Section 8:
quote:
To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations;
To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;
There is a reason we have rules.

Action is no different since the days of Bush II and continued under BHO....what Congressional approval did the latter obtain? If he did, please redirect my memory
All I can assume is your objection is because he was a General of a sovereign nation? If so, his position is a shield to his conduct/actions? Further, the POTUS told the Iranians what the consequences would be and they failed to heed. Further, what business is it of Iran's to be part of a siege of a US embassy?

Do we need approval approval?
We got approval 16+ years ago, why you so upset?

It was wrong then and wrong now. I’ve never said that it wasn’t. The difference in those acts was they didn’t lead us directly into a war. This stupidity seems like it will.

Possibly but they were told to back away and they didn't - on no soil of their's against another sovereign nation.
The time was coming for the Persians when someone was going to smack them for their continued threats and use of proxies...it happened today, the ball is now in their court.
Trust me, am not looking for a fight as our one and only son is in the region as I sit here safe and sound.

I hope video comes out of Trump pulling the trigger himself.

When attacks are being planned against your people, sometimes you don’t have time to do all that. You just prevent it.

So Congress declared war on Iran? No? Unconstitutional.
As soon as he led an attack against our Embassy, the "Act of War" had been committed and retaliation did not need Congressional Approval.
It's like if an aircraft carrier was parked of the coast of Cali, and foreign planes started attacking L.A., would we shoot the planes down but ignore the carrier afterwards, because it would be unconstitutional to sink it, since it was retreating??

Democrats wanted to impeach over something, this is it. The POTUS unilaterally assassinated a foreign general on Iraqi soil without trial and without a declaration of war from Congress. It was wrong when Obama did it and it’s wrong now. Why anyone is comfortable with this, I’ll never understand.
Unbelievable.
What is unbelievable is how pathetic you people are. You guys are acting like I ran was just sitting there in their living room doing nothing

It’s amazing to me that half the board is perfectly OK with the POTUS acting unilaterally without Congressional approval and without the backing of a court of any kind to assassinate a foreign general in a blatant act of war. When Iran inevitably responds and we get into a shooting war, it will be because the POTUS declared war via executive order.
You and Lima Whisky are almost posting the exact same words verbatim
LOL. Talk about obvious parrots

Um. If we send our Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to Iraq in the midst of open conflict, you can bet your arse he's a legitimate target.
You're being absurd

You’re wrong in your position. But feel free to carry on.

Loyal Americans need to be aware of another threat that comes along with this conflict. There is no doubt the left wingers are going to side with Iran and will actively assist them carry out attacks here in the States. We need to be ever vigilant and watchful.
If you see any evidence of that on social media or in person be sure to spread it around to as many people as you can, if we can get proof of the libs helping the Iranians we could kill two birds with one stone and take care of the libs to. They are as much of an enemy to us as Iran.
This may be a two front war but it would be justified, our freedoms and way of life are worth fighting for and the progressive left is as much a threat to that as any foreign country. Be vigilant, be true and stand against the threats to our great republic, whether it be here or abroad. By any means necessary
