Well, probably ought to let this go, but your argument does not address the point. Point being that an armed populous, will indeed affect "legislative matters".

Think back a few years, if you are that old. Ruby Ridge...to Waco...and on to Oklahoma City. Janet Reno came in like Wyatt Earp, with an attitude, and essentially burned up a bunch of children led by a psychotic (but relatively easy to arrest) Religious fanatic. Your "put you down like a dog" scenario. And McVeigh, the first of many 'weak links' that would have snapped in succession if Reno had continued 'putting down the dogs' attacked the Government, and those (collateral innocents) that lent functional power to said Government. If you noticed, McVeigh never waivered on His walk to the grave; He knew exactly what He chose to do, and why, and it worked. Shut down Reno and Her Rogues. And He accepted His execution with the responsibility and the severity which His action deserved, re the murder of innocent kids and plain working folk. His soul will pay a dear price...assuming there is God, Judgement and a Hereafter. Otherwise...He got'r done. Just like our Government kills women/children regularly; Obama, with drones...did in quite a few. For the 'cause'.

Nobody is going to show up at a legislature with a gun; the SHTF when the armed Government shows up at the door of the Citizenry who claim God-given Rights, and the Government employs their guns to take those Rights. Then either the dominos begin to fall, or the Government backs off. That's the scenario when a large Populous is able and willing to fight back. The Government would be toast, because any Government that made war on half the Citizenry...would no longer be a legit Government. Neither the Military or the (local) Civil LE would support such a Government.

Look at the World; we are no different when it comes to revolutions. Other than the extraordinary vision of the Founders, and the recognition and allegiance of the (former) Populous that lived peacefully and prosperously for generations that served said Constitutional Principle.

I won't be arguing this further; those who know, know. Those who don't know, won't be swayed with argument...but will learn what happens when honest and wise argument (Words/Truth/Vision) fails. IMO, words are far more powerful than guns, and far less painful. To each their own, in deciding their moral responsibility re the Word, and/or the Gun. There is "a time for all things".
