The needs of their bulk freight customers are completely antithetical to passengers.
Warren Buffet agrees.

Yes, airlines suck. Next question
The train from NYC to DC is faster than flying due to travel times to the airport, security and travel from DC airports to the city. Much nicer trip too.
They sell burgers in the lounge for $12 that cost government $80 though.

Go live in Europe or Seoul for a couple months and see how much better life is with a functioning rail system.

I've always wanted to take a ride in that.

We have Brightline here in Florida. I have not used it, yet, but know people who have, and like it. Right now, it goes from Miami to Orlando, with stops in Ft Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach.
They are adding a stop In Stuart, which is about 25 minutes from my house. Once they do that, I'll use it to go to the Orlando airport (the Orlando station is in the airport). Total Travel time is shorter, and the cost of a ticket is less if you factor in the cost of parking and gas.
Brightline isn't using any subsidies, while the rail project in CA is expected to cost taxpayers $128B.
In FL, the rail is expected to be extended to Tampa, eventually.

You really need to do some research.
There are 6 class one railroads in the US. Won't bother with the regionals and shortlines.

HSR does not use freight lines as the profiles are very different.
Getting a kick out of how you try to come across as an expert or something.
