Key-ev. I'm not going to change the pronunciation of a word since from before I was born to appease the current thing for the PC army.

It used to be pronounced (Kai-eve), like Cobra Kai that rhymes with "sky". That's how the Russians pronounced it when it was a part of the USSR.

Once it was independent, the Ukrainians reverted it back to their pronunciation which is (KEY-ev).

A co-worker of mine was born there, and his mother still lives there. I've also worked with others from the Ukraine as well.

KEEV vs Key-ev is the difference between calling it Miami or Miamuh.

Miamuh is how the locals call(ed) it. KEEV is a dialect of how the locals call it there too. To anyone outside of the area, both Miamuh and KEEV sound a little goofy.
