They won't...too much hotel tax money to be made. Only way to clean it up is having police out in large numbers, maybe even with help from neighboring counties, and strictly enforce underage drinking and public intoxication laws.

Talked to some people from Panama City Beach last week and they said that since they shut down drinking on the beaches in the month of March last year, everything is better. They said that the city doesn't want the Spring Breakers anymore. They destroy things, get drunk, and don't spend nearly as much money as families do. So, they're trying to clean things up and attract more families.

They said it was working really well and everyone there - especially the business owners - were really happy. The crowds are also way down as the Spring Breakers have moved on to other places.

As it turns out, Spring Breakers are bad for business, not good.

Makes sense. 20 year olds can be really shitty, I was.

Not all these kids are bad. PC has been hard on kids for 15 years now. If you are under 80 they don't want you there.

They will follow you around simply because you are young.

That will explain the modern degeneracy. The talking is E. Michael Jones - Libido Dominandi

What businesses did you speak to?
I have spoken to over two dozen "business owners" and they are not pleased.
Harpoon Harry's, La Vila, Hooters, Hammerhead, Pineapple Willy's, Margaritaville, etc.
Also, souvenoir and tourist shops.
Tattoo shops.

That area is devastated, and the Mayor and Council are absolutely horrific.

it's been like that for 40 years.

If the user don't care, I suppose I shouldn't either.

I agree with Ron Paul; however, our problem is most people want to be free to make poor decisions, but don't want to be responsible or accountable for them.

Who did you talk to? I live in PCB and everyome seems happy but business owners. Most businesses are down at least 30% and that is being gracious.

The problem for Panama City is none of the condos are really made for families unless we are talking poor families

PCB is pretty much a shell of what it once was - the kinds of businesses that line Front Beach Rd. and Thomas Dr. are Spring Break tacky, even sleazy. Used to be a great family vacation destination - now not so much. It can recover, but it's once golden reputation has been badly tarnished by permissive mayhem for too many years of uncontrolled Spring Break crowds. A lot of the trashy joints will need to close or move on.
