This is a nothing burger in the grand scheme because:
1) Trump knew the woman's name within the hour and had his people dig up EVERYTHING on her within the next hour. They knew what type of toilet paper she buys.
2) If there was anything relevant on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and probably tiktok, it is in the hands of the administration right now. Those companies are extremely chummy with him at the moment so he would get what he wants, when he wants it. You can't tell me the administration was not in immediate contact with the tech companies demanding archives of all the service member's pages as of that morning.
3) Trump would release anything he thinks the public should know, the rest he will let the family have their privacy.
4) If you have a problem with what you are being told, Trump is the de facto gatekeeper on this, not some deep state/tech conspiracy. Trump absolutely would not sit back and let something nefarious coverup occur in regards to this woman's history. He would bring out receipts because he has them

Scrubbing her out of that elite assignment would have accomplished something.

Since you are heavily invested in the blame game, did ATC confirm with the helo that the plane was approaching runway 33 and not runway 1?
Moments later, ATC then warns the military pilot about an inbound aircraft preparing to land: "Traffic [American Airlines passenger plane] just south of the Woodrow Bridge, a CRJ, it's 1,200 feet setting up for Runway 33."
The Black Hawk pilot responds with: "PAT 25 has the traffic in sight, request visual separation."

No idea why anyone gives a frick about a person who never saw combat.
I'm assuming you're trying to slam the pilot but as a veteran this part is bullshite. Every service member does their part to make this country safe. Every single one of us is trained as a war fighter. People shouldn't care whether we were in combat or directed pilots and troops in combat. To say people shouldn't give a frick about us is pretty assholish

Whether that was pilot error, instructor error, I
Instructor? She had 500 hours flying a Blackhawk. She wasn’t a student.

ATC asked the chopper TWICE if he had visual and the chopper pilot confirmed. Not sure what else ATC could have done other than deny their visual request, which probably hardly ever happens.

I guess they were really trying to respect the family but that allowed for scrubbing.
Hopefully the Trump admin made backups of all of her social media before the scrubbing.

Nearly everything you've said in this thread is wrong.
Pretty impressive actually.

Thought he was just doing the typical eval of her skills, not instructing.

500 hours is not a lot of flight time.

It’s easy to be married to an ideology that doesn’t require thought. Both sides are guilty of that. You definitely don’t seem to be willing to ask any questions.
Who is at fault? I’ve said it’s both, although some apparently think the ATC should be absolved of any guilt which is ludicrous.

She wasn’t a student pilot, though. That was my point.

And reminder you’re arguing with someone who was ACTUALLY AN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER you fricking dolt.
If you are the ATC, you have a conflict alert, which you hear on the tape. Do you do anything different?
If the answer is no, I’m amazed you let aircraft come into that close proximity and didn’t get anyone killed.

The VFR pilot is most likely 100% at fault.

In an evaluation if the person being evaluated is doing something seriously wrong would they not instruct them on the proper action?
I’m very curious to hear if the black box has any communication between them in the copter to see what their reasoning was for the action which got everyone killed.

Flying an emergency type mission, in the dark, she was a student in this situation.
I am not trying to be argumentative, but in this case I dont think she was doing anything more than learning.

I’m also interested in the black box info. My point was that she had enough experience to avoid killing people. I suspect that the copilot and instructor were focused on other items in those last few minutes.

I agree she did but this would all come back to the visual she had out of her cockpit.
