True - but I have given up on making this distinction - I don't know why everyone continues to use the wrong word for something so simple.
Sedition is, in a way, more dangerous. Treason can be committed by a single individual, or at worst, usually a small group. And to be 'treason' you have to actually be in a state of war with another nation. Treason is not normally a wide spread action.
Sedition requires a wide conspiracy - exactly what we have in this case. It almost always requires involvement of individuals who actually work within the government which is the target of the sedition. Sedition is only a thought-crime if it involves a single individual, but when conspiratorial groups invade the 'deep state' and make alliances with large, influential outside organizations like the entertainment, academic, big tech, and news it is far more dangerous than treason.
the proper word is SEDITION - but people keep using 'treason' which can be casually deflected by someone asking = "what enemy? - what war?"
don't understand the dedicated ignorance on this one.

I've used that exact thought on my Facebook postings - just using the rape/murder of an 8 yr old girl as the 'crime' being 'investigated' - never get a response.
