Did anyone see the interview of the guy that killed Pat Tillman?

I am beyond livid. And yes this is a melt.
Who does interviews about friendly fire? What a POS promoting a book he wrote and getting 15 min of fame out of this.
I don't care if he is trying to bring awareness to PTSD or depression or what. I cannot even.
This is a new low. I don't care who you are. How many soldiers get air time over people they kill in a time of war?

I did not see it, if true it was a very poor choice of behavior

It was on the news hour before Tucker. This fricker had on a suit and beard and a smile a politician would envy.
It was a disgusting display to say the least. Why is there no dignity left in society?
Imagine someone killing your child/spouse in a drunk driving accident...or just any no intent accident. Then writing a book about it and going on TV to promote it and talk about how guilty they feel? How would you feel? Why bring this up again so many years later.
His poor family. frick. That. Guy.

Yea, it was bullshite. He doesn't know if he actually shot Tillman but he thought he might have so he didn't sleep much for a while and totally wanted to kill himself because his coworker at his high six figure job read his name in a book

It made me viscerally ill. I'm glad others saw it. I thought I was having a mental break.

It was at best in poor taste, and closer to the truth, absolutely disgusting.

Horrible to benefit off of this. Sickening.

Why the hell would you seek attention in a friendly fire situation? That doesn't make sense

My buddy, Kevin (Pat's brother), would love to have an interview with the guy

To sell a book. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to lay claim to doing this, even if it was an accident or in question.
Some things are best kept private or, oh I don't know, classified?

Because the concept of shame has vanished from our society. We are a bunch of degenerates.

Furthermore I have much more contempt for the administration that covered up the friendly fire and then used Tillman's image to promote a war based on a lie.
This guy fought for his country as much as anyone else.

Or no intent accident...maybe work with the metaphor.
You can blame the admin and leaders all you want and I'd probably agree, but a man CHOOSES what he is known for in this instance.
Thousands fought for this country. No one sought fame or air time from killing one of their own.

More or less contempt than an administration that blamed the death of an ambassador on a video?

War Story
A Memoir
by Steven Elliott
Bestseller
Every soldier has a war story.
Steven Elliott’s opens with the death of American hero Pat Tillman by “friendly fire” in Afghanistan—when Army Ranger Elliott pulled the trigger, believing he and his fellow soldiers were firing on the enemy.
Tormented by remorse and PTSD in the aftermath of Tillman’s death, Elliott descended into the depths of guilt, alcoholism, and depression; lost his marriage and his faith; and struggled to stay alive. The war that began on foreign soil had followed him home.
A must-read for veterans and their loved ones, War Story is an explosive look at into the chaos of war—and the battle for life in its aftermath. It confronts some of life’s biggest questions: Why do we choose to fight for a country or a cause? What happens when the cost of that fight overwhelms and destroys? Can we forgive and be forgiven? How do we find hope? At its core, War Story is a dramatic personal encounter with war and faith, love and tragedy, and ultimate renewal.
All of the author’s proceeds from the writing of this book will be donated to organizations serving the mental health needs of the active duty and veteran community.

Still don't care.
You know what? He could still write the book, give proceeds, and not make mention of the why. He doesn't have to do interviews about it either.

Didn’t see the interview but could see it being a delicate spot. It’s a fair and perhaps important story to be told, and he’s donating the money to a proper cause it seems...but it could run off the rails badly, quickly.
