Except conservative areas are economic shite holes with no development, right?

Sure if you consider things like the $117 billion in SWLA no big deal then you would be correct. Or if you think areas like Shreveport with the Haynesville Shale, and Laffayette that even back in the 80s was know as the town of 1000 millionares are economic shitholes then you would still be correct.

There are examples in every conservative area that prove your statement simplistic to say the least.

That being said, Dick's lost all of my future business for anything else they sell.

Well, boohoo.

For every “customer” like you they lose they gain 2 like me.

But too bad we don’t have one in my area.

Dick's is a crappy store. I don't see them gaining any customers.

Was gonna go to dicks and buy all my son's T-Ball equipment this weekend. I think I'll go to academy instead. Sure they won't miss my $150 specifically, but if everyone else in my small town does the same for their kids spring ball gear they could miss out tens of thousands.

Dicks hasn’t sold AR’s since Sandy Hook. This only covers 35 Field and Stream stores.

Up a little over 1.5% in premarket trading. Go figure.

I have purchased exactly one pair of soccer shinguards for my kid in a pinch since they said the same thing a few years ago.

All this future business they'll lose and the stock is up today. Seems like the market disagrees. I guess we'll see.

Publicity. But I don’t think the uptick will hold.

You know that's irrelevant. Wait until future earnings reports and see what this does to their bottom line if anything.

It's up because their name is in the news. There is no way to measure any missing sales due to this yet. You're smarter than this.

I actually agree with this. If Dick’s fails it isn’t because of this, it’s because their store is just not good. I shop at REI for my outdoor gear anyway

They've had a few really disappointing quarters in a row regardless. I don't believe this decision will matter in the grand scheme, much like other morality decisions and/or boycotts we've seen discussed.

I worked part-time for several years at BP; some of the decisions toward the end of my tenure had me wondering if the company was in trouble.
